This Week’s Perspective Shift
From: planning Q2 by adding more
To: upgrading Q2 by cutting first
Theme for the Quarter: The Clarity OS
Theme for the Week: Q1 Reset + Recommit (what to prune, what to deepen)
This week wasn’t about “new goals.”
It was about a founder move most people avoid:
pruning.
Now let’s turn it into one calm 30-minute plan you can execute today.

✨ Sunday Reset (30 Minutes): Cut-First Q2 Edition
The One Thing 🧠
A better quarter is usually subtraction, not addition.
Q2 won’t get better because you “try harder.”
It gets better because you remove what’s stealing:
attention, momentum, and trust.
This week’s thread:
The Prune List (cut what’s not compounding)
Stop doing “maybe” work (it drains you slowly)
Reset your inputs (news, pings, meetings, tabs)
Recommit to one operating rhythm (so you stop thrashing)
Install one system that makes AI leverage real (not noise)
Big takeaway:
If you don’t prune, Q2 becomes Q1 with better intentions.

The One Cut ✂️ (Stop This This Week)
Cut: “Maybe Work.”
You know it when you see it:
vague projects with no finish line
meetings that “check in” but don’t decide
experiments with no metric
tasks you do to feel responsible
“we should” work that never becomes “we will”
New rule for the next 7 days:
If it doesn’t have an outcome + owner + deadline, it doesn’t enter the week.

The One Build 🧱 (Install This This Week)
Build: The Q2 Prune List (10 items → 3 cuts)
Open a note. Two columns:
PRUNE | REPLACE WITH (rule or rhythm)
Step 1) List 10 things that create drag
Examples:
recurring meetings
tools you “might” need
channels you always check
projects stuck in limbo
founder tasks you keep rescuing
Step 2) Circle the top 3
Ask:
“If this disappeared, what becomes easier immediately?”
Step 3) Replace each cut with a simple rule
Examples you can steal:
Replace random meetings → “No meeting unless there’s a decision + driver + deadline.”
Replace constant pings → “Messages checked at 11 and 4.”
Replace stuck projects → “No new project until one closes.”
This is how pruning sticks:
cuts + rules.

The One Metric 📏 (How You’ll Know It Worked)
Pick ONE metric to track this week:
Option A (best for most founders):
Number of cuts enforced (goal: 3)
Option B (momentum):
Number of “maybe” tasks avoided (goal: 10)
(If it doesn’t meet the rule, it doesn’t get done.)
Option C (rhythm):
Days you followed one operating rhythm (goal: 5/5)
Choose one. Track it Friday. Win clean.

The One Boundary 🛡️ (What Protects It)
Boundary: One operating rhythm for the week.
Pick ONE and commit:
BUILD mornings / RUN afternoons
orMon/Wed/Fri = deep work blocks
orMeetings only Tue–Thu afternoons
Whatever you pick, the rule is the same:
No calendar exceptions unless it’s revenue, retention, or delivery-critical.
Your rhythm is the container.
Your quarter is the content.

💬 Closing Insight
Adding more is easy.
Cutting first is leadership.
Because a founder who can prune… can scale.
“Growth that isn’t pruned becomes a burden.”
